Richard Chun focuses his practice on matters involving FDA compliance, regulatory clearance/approval, importation and exportation of FDA-regulated products. He adds that to significant practical business experience that he has in regulated industry.

Mr. Chun recently successfully concluded a project involving a China-based manufacturer of medical devices and numerous of its customers in working through the import entry process while the manufacturer was subject to an Import Alert. Mr. Chun has advised our clients on the Medical Device Excise Tax, the Food Safety Modernization Act, Investigational Device Exemptions, and the procedures of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency in Japan.

Mr. Chun began his career at Morgan Stanley and then moved to a private investment group, Washington Asset Management. There, he acquired experience in a broad range of business and legal issues in real estate, media, and corporate governance. Before joining the Wood Burditt group, Mr. Chun served as corporate counsel to New Global Content, an FTC and FCC regulated, multimedia distributor of Asian programming for television and satellite radio stations throughout the U.S.

Mr. Chun has served as an elected member of the District 67 Board of Education, the Chairman of the Policy Committee for District 67, a member of the Lake Forest Caucus (Officer and Ward 1 Chair) and a past Community Member of the District 67 Finance Committee. Mr. Chun enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. Mr. Chun received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and his joint degree J.D./ M.B.A. from The George Washington University. Mr. Chun is fluent in Korean.
