Cosmetics
The Wood Burditt Group provides counsel to the cosmetics industry and advises clients on the regulations pursuant to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA) and the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) of 2022.
We assist clients with issues pertaining to cosmetic product ingredients (including color additives), labeling, exports and imports, inspections, adulteration and misbranding, and recalls.
In addition, by reviewing claims made in both labeling and advertising, we help clients navigate the often-confusing process of determining whether their products are regulated as cosmetics, drugs, or both. We provide guidance to ensure that all such claims are compliant with both the FD&C Act and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations under the truth-in-advertising laws.
